Al Schaeffer presently lives in the Ponte Vedra Beach area of Northern Florida. He has been tuning and repairing pianos in Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington, DC since 1969.

Al follows in the family tradition of working with pianos. Al’s grandfather, John Schaeffer, started working on pianos in 1901, his father, Al Schaeffer, Sr. later took over the business and the family tradition continues with Al Jr.’s daughter, Heather. She is currently a piano teacher in the Jacksonville community of Florida.​

 

Registered Piano Technician (RPT)
​Al is a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) with the Piano Technician’s Guild.
